As part of NetHui’s Partner Day on Wednesday, October 2nd, Tohatoha is running a session called, GET YOUR COPYRIGHT GAME ON!

The name of the game for this session is fun, pure and simple.

Join us learn to how to play the best games about copyright available in the world today including the Kiwi-designed and developed card game Creative Commons Release ‘Em Poker, which will be taught by local game designer Cam Findlay.

You’ll also learn to play The Copyright Game (developed in the UK), Datopolis (an ‘Open Data’ boardgame), and The Academic Publishing Trap … all led by Tohatoha’s CEO, Mandy Henk, with assistance from associates Melanie Johnson (Copyright Officer at University of Auckland) and Victoria Leachman (Rights Manager at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa).

In playing these games, you’ll learn more about the rules of copyright legislation and grow in your understanding of Creative Commons principles as you apply your knowledge to real-world copyright scenarios, challenges and conundrums, all while having fun and some friendly competition.

WHEN: Wednesday, 2nd October, 1.30pm – 5.00pm
WHERE: Rangimarie 3, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Cable Street, Wellington.
